Wow! What a find if you know the history of this brand and model F. E. Olds & Son S-22 model Bass Trombone originally designed as the P-22 with input from the legendary bass trombonist George Roberts I really don't have to go any further. Just get this if you're seeking a 1970's Olds S-22. This single valve bass trombone was the style of set up that George Roberts used. Lightweight and you can adjust the F-attachment slide to E so you can get low B dialed in just right without the need of a second trigger. Has a lightweight nickel silver slide for faster slide action and also nickel silver rotor tubing too that is dual bore larger than the hand slide in the F-attachment tubing (see the above bore specs) that really helps it bark with the rotor engaged in the low register. 9" red brass bell with a very open bell throat that projects BIG. This bass plays way bigger than it is. Oh, and the best part THE CONDITION!!! I got this from the original owner, the owner got it in the 1970's used it in college then it sat stored for decades with very minimal play in between, so the condition is basically excellent condition not quite mint, needed to get play condition TLC treatment from JGMP Brass and works wonderful, it still has some cosmetics and couple spots on the inside slide of plate blistered from sitting but where addressed during play condition processing so you gotta remember to use your slide lock kids or the slide will fly off! I know for some of us bass trombone seekers this is on the bucket list of bass bones to find and as a quality single trigger bass trombone with a lightweight build making for more nimble movement and less weight to deal with. Get it before someone else finds out this is up for sale, not many of these Olds S-22 bass bones come up in this kind of awesome condition with intact near mint original case where you feel you just opened up the 1970's with the classic Olds brown case plush lining and original Olds 21 mouthpiece. Hop to it now if you want it as I may even consider keeping this in my personal arsenal of T-bones. ;)
